WILL WE SEE GOD IN THE NEW HEAVEN?

If you do a search on the internet, you will find many websites that will tell you that we will see God’s face in Heaven.

Here is one example: In heaven we will actually see the Lord face to face. This is impossible in the earthly realm. After all, God said, “No man can see Me and live!” Ex. 33:20,  John 1:18 and 1 John 4:12 both say, “No one has seen God at any time.”  As long as we are tainted by sin, we cannot see God. The view of such perfect righteousness would destroy us.

Revelation 22:3-4, seems to support this view: “No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. 4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.”

John 4:24, 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Since God dwells in “unapproachable light” and is one “whom no one has seen or can see” (1 Timothy 6:16), God is described in terms of the reflected brilliance of precious stones. First Corinthians 2:9 says, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.” Because of God’s holiness, it may be that we will never be able to look upon His face, but again, this is speculation.

Since God is spirit, and we will have a resurrected body, it seems to me that it is unlikely we will be able to see God’s face, But then again, in the book of Job, Lucifer appeared before God and spoke to Him.
